In addition to a brand’s overall rating, our tools provides at-a-glance information on brands’ practices through values and certifications. Below, we briefly explain the criteria for surfacing these attributes in our tools.

Values 

Values help pinpoint brands that perform well in key impact areas, for instance, Fairtrade, organic, recycled, vegan, lower-impact Materials, “Give Back”, and for beauty brands, lower-impact ingredients. The criteria we use to surface the values are listed below:
