Within these pillars, the rating system looks at how well the brand’s activities conform to accepted good practices relevant to the production and distribution of clothing, footwear, accessories, jewellery, beauty, and personal care products (including makeup, nails, skincare, suncare and tanning, haircare, bath, fragrances, and dental care)—and how they impact people, planet and animals. Our ratings technology and independent analysts compile and evaluate brands’ own public reporting, the most robust third-party indices, as well as certifications and accreditations.
